Heard it too many time to count? Social Skills are
important to children, and they must socialize with other children to have
a full life. However, social skills which are being taught
in the world, may not be what we want for our children.
How
do we teach them?
Social skills are not difficult to teach, but instilling them in our
children is a whole new ballgame! With outside influences which, at times,
we have no control over, we can only hope that we have done our job conveying what is right or wrong.
We give them the decision making tools they will
need to carry it through, in the real live situations. The books, lesson
and activity planners, are here to help you and your child. Or, if your child is exceptional, or has other symptoms that you feel are beyond
this, there are solutions below.

| Sugars That Heal: The New Healing
Science of Glyconutrients Sugars That Heal offers a revolutionary new health plan based on the science of glyconutrients--foods that contain saccharides. It gives authoritative guidance for getting all eight saccharides conveniently into your diet through supplements and readily available foods, as well as detailed information on correct dosages. Here, too, are chapters dealing with the special nutritional needs of people suffering from cancer, heart disease, asthma, and neurological disorders, and methods for using glyconutrients to treat depression, obesity, and ADHD. Sugars That Heal: The New Healing Science of Glyconutrients Dr. Hoffer's ABC of Natural Nutrition for Children: With Learning Disabilities, Behavioral Disorders, and Mental State Dysfunctions The book features comprehensive chapters on diagnosis and treatment, accompanied by case studies, in which many parents will find their own children's illnesses diagnosed; a table of the nutrient content of common foods, which a parent can follow in developing an optimum diet; and a complete guide to vitamin and mineral supplements for children, withrecommended dosages. Dr. Hoffer's ABC of Natural Nutrition for Children: With Learning Disabilities, Behavioral Disorders, and Mental State Dysfunctions Managing the Gift : Alternative Approaches for Attention Deficit Disorder The A.D.D. impacted person is part of the evolutionary process of humanity. It is time to acknowledge that these people have many gifts and insights that can help us move more clearly into the 21st century. They possess a kind of intelligence that allows them to go where we have never gone before. Managing the Gift : Alternative Approaches for Attention Deficit Disorder The Edison Trait: Saving the Spirit of Your Nonconforming Child Edison Trait kids--one in five children--have the qualities that make innovative leaders, inventors, explorers, yet they often have a hard time in school where their personality traits may be seen as weak or negative. Palladino recasts these children in a positive light and gives specifics on understanding and becoming an ally for your Edison Trait child. The book is convincing, reassuring, and accessible. Perhaps it will help parents of nonconforming kids resist the pressure to make their kids "just fit in." The Edison Trait: Saving the Spirit of Your Nonconforming Child Maximum Solutions for Add, Learning Disabilities and Autism: Natural Treatments for Add, Adhd and Autism Don't let your child become a victim or a statistic! Discover: The truth about possible addition and long-term negative effects. The difference between ADD, learning disabilities and autism. Practical ways to improve your child's ability to learn. How diet and nutrition directly affect behavior ...and much more! Maximum Solutions for Add, Learning Disabilities and Autism: Natural Treatments for Add, Adhd and Autism Your Drug May Be Your Problem: How and Why to Stop Taking Psychiatric Medications Psychiatric drugs are prescribed to more than 20 million Americans. This book aims to convince us to stop taking these drugs, and to show us how to do it safely. The authors contend that after 15 minutes with a physician or psychiatrist, Americans are prescribed medications that we may take for years or a lifetime, which can do more harm than good. Your Drug May Be Your Problem: How and Why to Stop Taking Psychiatric Medications Talking Back to Ritalin: What Doctors Aren't Telling You About Stimulants for Children Breggin (International Center for the Study of Psychiatry and Psychology) severely criticizes the American Psychiatric Association and the pharmaceutical company Novartis, among others, for using the questionable diagnosis of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children for pushing such potentially harmful stimulants as Ritalin, Metadate, and Concerta on children. He counters the scientific evidence on the existence of ADHD and details the many psychological problems that can develop in children exposed to Ritalin and other stimulants. Talking Back to Ritalin: What Doctors Aren't Telling You About Stimulants for Children The Hyperactivity Hoax : How to Stop Drugging Your Child and Find Real Medical Help Walker (A Dose of Sanity) points a finger at hurried doctors who treat symptoms without identifying underlying causes and blames managed health care (HMOs) for pressuring physicians into making hasty choices. Educators also get their share of Walker's criticism for attempting to push for the ADD (attention deficit disorder) or ADHD label (and the use of Ritalin) when kids are difficult in class (10 % of elementary school boys are on Ritalin, he notes). Rather than relying on easy labels, Walker urges parents to aggressively seek the root of their child's problem The Hyperactivity Hoax : How to Stop Drugging Your Child and Find Real Medical Help Soar With Your Strengths The authors' theory of concentrating on your strengths and what you were meant to do makes perfect sense, now that they've said it. It's one of those books where you'll read it and say, "I knew that!" An obvious no-brainer for the young adult starting a career, I've found it exceptionally helpful for people in mid-life transition. Soar With Your Strengths

Special Needs ADHD’s main symptoms are reduced attentiveness and concentration, excessive levels of activity, distractibility, and impulsiveness. An estimated three to five percent of school-age children have ADHD, though some surveys put the percentage as high as 17 percent. Symptoms of
ODD may include the following behaviors when they
occur more often than normal for your age group: losing your temper; arguing
with adults; defying adults or refusing adult requests or rules; deliberately
annoying others; blaming others for your own mistakes or misbehavior; being
touchy or easily annoyed; being angry and resentful; being spiteful or
vindictive; swearing or using obscene language; or having a low opinion of
yourself. The person with ODD is moody and easily frustrated, has a low opinion
of him or herself, and may abuse drugs.
