Ailments and Labels is a section of articles, entries, and stories about ADHD/ADD/PPD and all the other Labels we succumb our families to.  Have you or someone you know been labeled by a Doctor or other member of the medical field?  Have you heard it from a friend, neighbor, or even thought it about yourself?  We have put together a tour of our remedy, with testimonies of others who agree with us.  We greatly appreciate the cooperation of all our contributors, for helping make this an understandable journey for you.

INTRO:
My name is JILL.  I have always been a holistic health person, and I personally do not agree with most medical terminology, nor do I like labels.  Labels are big words that use smaller Latin words, compiled into completely different languages, to convey the closest thing they can come up.  Or at least that's how I feel when I try to read them.  Therefore, you will read many things here that don't necessarily match what a Doctor would say.  I do not claim to have a medical degree, nor is any material on this site a recommendation to be followed without first consulting your health care technician.

I have always believed you were what you ate, put on yourself, or inhaled.  No, I am not saying we were perfect because we were far from it.  We still have a great distance to travel too.  My children are 29, 11, and 8, and I have never bought bags, boxes, bottles or any product that I considered junk food.  Always having great meals and snacks each day, had been a lifetime goal for me to do for them.  I thought that a homemade meal consisted of the main food groups and as long as I ate them in a balanced and nutritional conscious manner, I was doing right by my family.  I went as far as making my higher learning studies in Child and Human Development, and Nutrition.  I guess you can tell from my websites;  GardenOfGood.com ,  [HolisticHealthCorner.com, NaturalHealthyLiving.com EdibleLandscape.com recently sold], and 4HomeSchool.info (because schooling at home became necessary in order for them to learn anymore.

Recently, my darling son and middle child, was involved with some shady friends and due to his anger, out of control behavior and resulting problems; I was at my wits end trying to understand where or how I went wrong.  With a few rounds of counseling under our belts, and being just short of locking him up, I was almost ready to comply to what others were saying and administer Ritalin or some other horrible (in my eyes) drugs to control him.  We had tried it all!  Removing sugar, take away privileges, friends, home-schooling, isolation for hours in his room, what ever it took.  But nothing worked.  Revolting as the thought seems to me now,  I knew my family was headed for even bigger troubles with a smaller one just behind him.

I always said that God works in mysterious ways and through people.  I had just met a new friend, Diane, whose child was diagnosed ADHD and put onto medications.  God sent someone her way, who introduced her to the "Feingold" way of life.  The Feingold Association of the United States (FAUS), is a membership of families who learned that their children could be treated through diet, instead of synthetic medicines.  When I first met her little girl, Kelly, I thought she was sweet, settled, and not hyper at all.  Diane said it was because she had stuck to her diet that week.  I didn't understand what she meant until our third or fourth meeting.  Kelly was not the same child at all.  She was loud, hyper, ill mannered, and actually a true cry baby.  Oh my, she was just like my son!   Diane alerted us by saying she had eaten wrong.  It all started to make sense to me.  I learned much from her that day, went to the Feingold website, and within hours it all clicked in for me.  I became a new member. The rest is history except to give you great examples of our new life, and wonderful testimonies from other FAUS members, who have given us permission to add their story too.  Why do they write these?  Because most FAUS members, are so convinced that they wish to volunteer, so they can help others free their selves of the heart aches they have endured.  That, coupled with the facts that they too had tried it all until they found the only way that works.  We are living proof!  Here are the resources that we suggest.
