FlyLady.net tell us so much about why we should throw things away.  Believe me she has good reasons and each is valid to a point.  Fifteen years ago, I met Rita Davenport and took a wonderful course she offered.  Make no bones about it, she is an intelligent lady!  Fly Lady has taken up where Rita left off, and is now giving us wonderful advice to help us de-clutter our lives.  Okay, you say, but I am NOT throwing things out that can be sold or given to someone who really needs it!

Here are some of Fly Lady's great points that we should ponder before saving those "things" that are in our way to freedom.  Below you will find a link to a place that can help.  The wording are altered, as we do not want to infringe on her copyrights. But you can enjoy these in full text and system at FlyLady.net

Putting junk (to you) for a sale means you are not really getting rid of it!  That goes for Storage units, basements, garages and outside sheds. It is still clutter in your life!  I call it has just been placed in the "Holding pattern".

Auction sites will waste your time.  She is right, we never completely recoup spent money on stuff.  First you sell it cheap, then you pay the shipping or postage.  The only way you can see fulfillment is to let it go and give it away.  (Our sentiments exactly!!)  Leave go of it is what we say.  I give much of it away to someone I know likes to have sales, they sometimes even give me a little money back after the sale.

FlyLady says our clutter is making us feel guilty, and I believe her.  It is true.  Once we hoard things and store it for the sales, then don't have the sales or post it somewhere, we feel guilty.  I know, I just gave away 20 pounds of books when we moved.  Think about it.  Where are your sale things right now?  That is, unless your have freed yourselves of it, and feel good about it.  If Guilt for the clutter that has taken over your life, just go to her link so you can experience joy and freedom!

Okay, much of this I agree with so let's get busy!!  As you have kept this clutter for this long, let's do something about it.
Get out your calendar.  Write the item that you want to fling and on the date you need to have it gone.  Post it here with the item description, a price if you are not just blessing someone else with it, and how to reach you by email.

That's it, now start blessing yourself by doing this!  It's alot easier than it sounds...just DO IT!

Fling It To Me      We have decluttered lots of places.  Come see our Closet Fling
