Interview with CEO/Editor of SHE WORK
Where and how did you get your start?
Being over 50 now, I would have to say that I was always
about five or ten years ahead of each pattern in our society. I was a
hippie before they had a name, and a Yippee, Yuppie, net-preneur, and all
others, long before they were popular for the moment. A trend which
followed me for my lifetime.
As a Human Development, Health, and Self-Help author and publisher, I leaned
toward learning and writing about ways I could help others. Many times
this was while exposing falsehoods told to us by the very ones we trusted.
This has not always made me popular either. Rebel for a cause as the say. However, I have received
thousands of emails over the years, stating; "Wow! I didn't know that", "Thank
you, you have changed my life for the better!", and a few apologies when they
were found to be wrong. :) All of them have made the hard work, well
worth it!
Why do you spend so much time helping others?
Because someone first helped me. I don't really know
where it all began, but as I stated earlier, helping others is what makes me
happy. I don't look for return favors (unless it is in business deals), I
just do it for my own satisfaction.
Why do you feel qualified to give advise to Stay at
Home Executives?
I have worked from my home for over 30 years. This has accumulated a
delightful array of "stay at home" and "work at home" attitudes, methods, tips
and shortcuts that anyone (male, female, parent or not) can benefit from.
I have raised children and grands for over 33 years, can help others keep
on the right track, and keep a sense of humor through it.
What do you need to be a SHE?
If you work at home, you basically have the main interest
required already. We help Stay at Home Executives learn shortcuts which
will help them get all their duties done in a more timely manner.
What do I get besides shortcuts and tips?
Previously, I stated that it is a difficult endeavor trying to stay at home,
raise kids (many homeschool them also), keep up a spouse (lol), make a
profitable business, and keep a sense of humor. I am a firm believer that
my creator (who I call God) has it all under control! I just need to stick
close to him, let the "big picture" unfold, and go with the most positive things
that I can put forth. Some might say, good Karma.
Who in your lifetime, would you say that you are
most like?
Oh! That is the easiest question yet! As a child I first saw Erma Bombeck
on an old talk show. From that day on, I was enthralled with the idea how
much like her I thought and related to. Maybe it was her sense of humor which attracted me. You
could feel that she really did have her family and their best interest within
her. She was what I call 'family focused' She just made us laugh at (at
that moment) terrible situations. It seemed to help me through many years;
as I would always have her voice echoing in my head. Her funny saying
which brought me out of turmoil and back to control.
Anyone else?
Glad you asked! I have read millions of books in my
life, and only a few have changed my life dramatically. Maybe I should say
that only a few of those books that have changed my thinking when I was stuck in
my ways. They were the "straw that broke the camels back",
enlightening of my own faults, self revelation types, which actually made me
just DO IT! Results have been very good, and I will show you a small list
if you would like to see them. Oh, just recently, I had the opportunity to
join and benefit from an online program which has helped my children too. I will
explain that too.
How do I join SHE WORKS?
Signing
up is very simple. Here is the link, and the instructions and what to
expect are there. I am happy we got to talk today, and thank you for this
interview. I hope we have reached out to those who need our help.
